July Musings with Riley

This month we have been chatting to the ever inspiring Riley of the cult
US Jewellery brand Gunner + Lux.
What do you do to feel motivated creatively or otherwise?

I love to look through magazines and visiting big cities is always great for new ideas. I also have a handful of favourite websites I always look to for inspiration.

What’s making you tick right now, is there something new you’ve discovered you can tell us about?

I am really excited about some of the new jewellery we have coming out. We have been working really hard to try and find that area where both kids and adults can wear Gunner + Lux.

How do you start your day, what does your morning routine look like?

Well, during school getting up early is really tough! I love my sleep, so sleeping in as long as possible really 'is' my morning...

What’s your favourite thing about your job? Who or what inspired you to do what you do?

I really love creating our jewellery and finding new ways to style it. It's really exciting to see the brand grow knowing that we have built it together. Right now, I am most inspired by all the women who are pushing for women's rights.

What’s most exciting you about the upcoming year?

So far, it has been a really exciting year - working with Channing Tatum on our bracelet collaboration has been a real highlight. It was so much fun to work together.

Song that never fails to lift your mood?

I love any songs on TikTok radio.

What is your favourite possession and the story behind it?

I have a beautiful ring and necklace that were gifts from my grandmas - I treasure those.

If you could visit anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be?

Paris is my next stop for sure!

And finally...how would you style our dress?

I feel like my style changes a lot and it's really still evolving. When I had my pixie cut, I found I gravitated towards a lot of black. I will never not love a good dress...pockets essential of course, so my new Maison dress is perfect.

I love that here in Maine, I can put on a pair of boots, cool jeans, a vintage tee and a tonne of jewellery... and it all works.
